KUALA LUMPUR: Eight-five per cent of 300 Malaysian mothers said the Internet has helped them to make better decisions relating to family matters, according to a survey done by Starcom MediaVest Group and Microsoft Advertising, a division of Microsoft Corp.

The survey The Secret Online Lives of Mothers in Asia... Revealed, showed that 70% of Malaysian mothers use social networks as a source of information for her child and family.

"About 91% of Malaysian mothers said the Internet is part of their lives and 65% of them plan to use the Internet more often in the future," Microsoft Advertising head of research for Asia Pacific, Heidi Lau said.

The report also revealed that the top three online activities that at least 50% of Malaysian moms engage in a week are receiving and sending e-mail messages, using search engines, and searching for information on products and services.

The survey was conducted across eight Asian markets (China, India, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Japan and South Korea and Malaysia) and a total of 2,859 Asian mothers between the ages 20 and 49 participated in the survey.

To make better purchasing decisions relating to family matters, about 58% of Asian mothers rely on online networks that are made up of friends, family and colleagues, the survey revealed.

"The next trusted sources are online customer reviews with about 46% of Asian moms relying on them to make better decisions," said Lau.

She believes the survey would help advertisers to design more effective online campaigns for mothers in Asian markets.

Dear all,

Louis Louie was started based on the love, interest and care of a young parent. Being a young parent is indeed very fun because they are able to grow-up with their children and share same interest to the constant growth of the global culture.

Mum comes from the fashion & cosmetic industry and Dad is from advertising. With both similar click of industry, they share similar fashion sense and being 21st century parents, they are all about being a good looking family.

Parents always want to give their best to their children and we believe in

“A well dressed child symbolizes loving parents; because who doesn’t want their child to look good?”

Louis Definition~
In the French definition, Louis has two meaning which accommodates the Masculine and Feminine side of people. The Masculine is being defined as a famed warrior and the feminine being a French form a pure feminism.

Louie is the name of our son and he gave us the inspiration to start up this children fashion site.

My two years old son like vehicles, especially toy car, regardless those manual car or remote control car. Unfortunately he is a "destroyer". He will dismantle each part of the toy until the toy get damaged or missing parts and malfunction. His daddy decided not to give him any expensive toy car until he learns how to take good care of them.

He like to read books which has cars. I described to him how a car's engine work by bringing him to his uncle's car workshop, off course with the book to illustrate. He can now tell me the simple steps such as, when the spark plug creates sparks, explosion happens in the cylinders and thus push the pistons. Pistons then push the crank shaft that connect to the wheels. Car can then move.

I have only a little boy who is now two years and three months ago. He is very bad temper when failing to do certain things. He has very less focusing which i think this applies to every child. I found reading books with him is the only way to keep him focus and control his emotion. I read him many books each day, at least more than 20 and at least two hours ( 30min after nap and 1 hour ++ before bedtime). He is now able to complete each sentences when i pause. He is also make up his own stories with him as the character in the story. I found it very amazing! Now i am a SAHM after losing my job due to company closure, so, i have more time to spend with him reading books. Just would like to tell every mommy down here, reading books with your children is a very rewarding effort. Please keep it on if you had started or kick start if you have not.

I would like to take this chance to introduce my online bookstore as way to earn some income. Please support me and thanks.

Hi serenepsl,

I've taught in both Smart Reader and Vital Years and I sincerely won't recommend you to enrol your toddler in Smart Reader at such a tender age. At the age of two toddlers should be learning more about socializing, motor skills, interacting and not merely academics. Smart Reader will be more suitable when your kid is at least 4 years and above and is more mature to 'absorb' the teaching/learning of phonics in a classroom environment.

You may want to hop into any Vital Years centre nearby your area. Try the one in SS2 (Person to contact Mr. Cheng or Mei Ling) if you are around the area as VY caters for toddlers as young as 2 as it focus more on stress free lesson. Your kid won't even know he is learning as all you see is play, but the result is simply amazing. Most importantly it is a ONE to ONE teaching so your child is guaranteed the attention he needed.

You may want to watch these two videos of my own son after only 2 months in Vital Years. he is currently 2 years 7 mths old.

http://www.submerryn.com/2010/03/two-months-after.html

Good luck and it's simply amazing to know that you are already thinking about his journey when he is two when he is only ten months old now. Keep up the good work mommy

Extra wide waist and shoulder straps to keep baby comfy and safe
Secure waist strap that firmly holds baby to the chair
A nifty little carry bag so you can pop it in your diaper bag or hand bag
Machine washable and can be tumble dried
Suitable for all infants once they can sit well unsupported (approx 6 -30 months)

Ideal for:
Holidays
Cafes which do not provide high chairs or have high chairs which are not suitable for your baby
Visiting
Grandparents house
Encouraging older children to sit on a regular chair at the dining table.

**Max width of chair is 50cm. The ideal height of the chair back is 50 cm, but this flexible design accommodates chair backs that are slightly taller and shorter than this.

I've been using this high chair for my daughter for the last few months or so and I love it!!! It's convenient and can be easily taken anywhere. Personally, I prefer to use this over some of the high chairs that are provided in cafes and restaurants because my daughter tends to be able to climb out of the chair or slip through the bottom. With this high chair she stays firmly in place.

These fabric high chairs are extremely popular in Australia and New Zealand

If you are interested and want to see some pictures, email me at bubshop@gmail.com.

At this stage, the promotion price is RM50

Get it you wont regret it!!!

As Mothers we must do all we can to guide our children and families.

[quote]I cannot think of a more important issue to put my name to and I hope that everyone takes it seriously ! How we present issues to our children now will represent what our world will be in the future. At the moment we are most certainly heading down a dangerous road, so let's do something to properly educate parents and children - now !

..Campainging to clean up the image of how women are portrayed on the covers of newspapers and magazines, ie soft porn mags such as zoo and Nuts and The Sport and The Star.

Most of these publications are at 'eye leval' of children, which teaches and force feeds them from an early age to 'except' and view women as 'sex objects'.

We believe it fuels the Porn industry by encourging younger people to links to stronger material, as most soft porn titles such as Zoo, Nuts, Maxim etc have no age limits.
It also causes a great secret pain of countless women, who feel 'degraded' and 'de-valued',with many young women and young girls mis-guided to the value of their own sexuality, and self image.
These publications fuel a market of 'false' opportunities of fame and fortune., which leads to an exploitation of young women.

These issues are now starting to be reconised by Goverment too. Please write or email your local M.P.

In a recent survey publicised in The Daily Mail, 100% of young women surveyed stated these images and publications make them angry, offended, and upset.

One-fifth of young males in the same survey admitted the material encouraged them to see women as 'sex objects'

A Tory Education spokesman accused such titles "OF FUELLING THE RISE OF SINGLE PARENT FAMILLIES, AND THE COLLAPSE OF CONVENTIONAL FAMILY LIFE IN GREAT BRITAIN"

We need to target family stores such as Tesco's Sainsbury's and local smaller supermarkets, for their display of magazines and papers such as The Sport, Nuts and Zoo etc, as they are CONSTANTLY displaying these publications in full view of everyone and breaking very moral and official guidelines by having them displayed at childrens eye leval, and on the same shelves as childrens magazines!!!!

These FAMILY based stores and businesses have we believe have
'a duty bound obligation' to clean up their standards of morals if they are to be classed as 'family' stores.

Many parents have complained to The Family Moral Movement, and store managers, that they are having to tolarate having to choose a magazine for their child standing next to men and teenagers browsing through pages of sexual images of women, in such stores as Asda, Tesco, etc.

More polite pressure has to issued to family stores to
please clean up their moral act, and 'make shopping experiences for everyone a more happy experience'.
Complain politely to Store Managers, by writing, face to face or email.

This has to change! Should 'family' supermarkets, stores and petrol stations really be allowed to display in such an in your face way or even sell magazines and publications of this nature?

Films and T.V have to have 'strict' rules about their certification as to its content......so it is believed by The Family Moral Movement, that these publications are governed by the same rules and guidelines.
For example a film has to make the viewer fully aware as to its content,
but we as a Nation, including our children are exposed to images sometimes worse than the contents in some films, as we shop (without choice)on a daily basis.

A Labour M.P for Crosby, who spent a year and a half researching the industry said "I do not want to censor this material but we must do something with the display of such titles"

MP Claire Curtis-Thomas warns "titles such as Nuts, Maxim, Zoo, The Sport etc are little more than porn and should be treated as such."

Hi Julie,

I am a new comer to this blog. But your post attracted me. My youngest, 3 years old likes to suck the point finger and the middle finger both in her mouth. I tried everything I can to stop her but always gets back to her habit. There is slight rash developing under her nail due to this. I too don't know what to do to stop this habit!
